It is globally accepted that greetings are an expression of courtesy and moral in the gathering of intellects, hence I bring you solidarity greeting with a deep sense of responsibility, patriotism, and commitment to Service for National Development, Generational shift in power and Restoration of our dear Nation’s glory.

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) under the leadership and stewardship of Comrade Activist Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, hereby call on all Students of Polytechnics, Monotechnics, college of Education, School of Health, College of Agriculture and all other tertiary institution Awarding National and Higher National Diploma to come out in hundred and in thousand, as we match peacefully to NBTE National Head Quarter to submit our Petition to the Executive Secretary.

Following the most recent discrimination against HND holders in civil service at the last promotion exercise held in Abuja on 17th – 20th Dec. 2019 where those with HND certificate background were denied entry owing to the flimsy excuse by the Ministry of Education that they are yet to get implementation memo from the Head of Service, the leadership of NAPS made a publication to that effect dated 26th Dec 2019 (page 4, Daily trust) but it is so disheartening to know that up till date neither presidency, Minister of Education nor Head of Service have responded to our plight.

The leadership of NAPS have decided to lead Nigeria students down to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) being the regulatory body for all institutions awarding ND / HND, to publicly demand for justice as we submit our petition letter through the Executive Secretary of NBTE to the Head Of Services of Federation asking ration behind attempt to circumvent the National Council On Establishment resolution on HND Dichotomy removal as well Request scrapping of HND program/certificate if the FG can’t stop maltreating the holders.
